Whole30 Day11: November 2013


The further I get in the program, the better I feel, look, and handle the challenge of staying away from the foods. Currently my mood is at its best. Relatively more patient, happier, and not much "hangry" feelings.
I like it. Sometimes I consider doing this longer. Even though I still want to eat 14 cupcakes in one sitting. Sometimes that's the reason I want to keep going. To make that self control kick in. I don't know if it ever will. But what's the harm in trying. 
With some strawberries and banana. I had full fat canned coconut milk in my coffee. I presume that's a good fat for my morning. 
This is tilapia, carnitas and mixed bell peppers with onion. Some clean salsa, and homemade guac. I finished up the rest the guac(which altogether equalled out 3/4 avacado) with some whole carrots. 
My oldest has an after school activity on Fridays so we get home way later than normal. Today I was starving by the time her lessons even started. I had an apple, seasnax and a cherry Lara bar. Not exactly as well rounded as I need but all clean emergency snacks. I honestly call it a success.learning from it though. 
Dinner for me was leftover steak and chicken from my parents house. I was ever so grateful. I paired it with some bell peppers and onions, topped it with coconut aminos, and made a homemade guac. While watching- and hearing ;) my family eat pizza. 
I later had a spoonful of coconut butter again. 
Some days are easier than others. Almost All nights seem hard. Somehow I think this is psychological. 20 days to go :)

Just another story.

I have been told telling my story will help.. people. I don't see how that is the case but I figure there is some reason I have dealt with the things that I have. So I'll start out simple.


Anxiety.


Crippling. Suffocating. Like a straight jacket warn under water.


Sounds so dramatic. So exaggerated. But it's so real. There's a quote that describes it perfectly "You don't need water to feel like you're drowning, do you?" no. I don't.


I've always had anxiety. for as long as I remember. After I had my youngest child it got significantly worse. It was no longer a panic attack that I would get over once I figured out or was proven everything would be okay. It was tightness in my chest all night and I didn't know why. It was someone is going to get sick and I know that will kill us all. It was sleeping in his room every night for months. It was waking up every few hours to check his breathing. Meal Prep Monday 11/25/13

My days are a haze of dishes laundry sweeping meal prep dog poop people poop making people foods and watching people eat cake and pizza. And Ice cream.  I never realized how much junk food I was surrounded by until very recently.  But it's cool. I have coconut butter, dates, coffee and Lara bars. Life is good. :)
Sun- chicken "fingers" and sweet potato fries with mixed veg.
M- Shrimp and (leftover) chicken and "fried riced cauliflower"
T- chicken tortilla-less soup
W- breakfast for dinner - self explanatory. Easy. Cheap. Favorite.
Th- thanksgiving !! At someone else's house ;)
Fri- taco night. I have renamed pizza night taco night. Because I can. Because I'm mom. This week will be ground turkey tacos because it's the cheapest if bought in  bulk.
Sat- leftovers

Breakfast: I made myself a frittata and  hubby has breakfast sandwiches I make him. He's super picky about healthy foods and if left to his own devices lives off bagel bites and chips. Which …

Whole30 again? Why?

I'm on day 9 of a whole30. I've done them before and I eat FAIRLY decent(I have my moments) but I felt like it was time to do another.
I was feeling fatigued, anxious, depressed, and my skin was atrocious. I wasn't sleeping well and my hormones were very obviously out of whack. I know a whole 30 improves all of these things so much so my goal was to just jump in and do one. I know how this goes, I've read all the books, I've done a handful of them within the last few years, and I am not new to meal prep. In fact, I have had several false starts in all of January and February of 2017 and I meal prepped almost every weekend of said months. My best friend said that she was ready to do one after a long time of considering it and I jumped on board. Something clicked this time and I have so far been successful.
Why am I doing it this time.
Besides the obvious benefits everyone explains about a whole30, I specifically wanted to feel my best mentally and physically because…
